How to join the consultation room
This page shows you how to join a video consultation. It also covers turning on your camera and microphone.
Who can do this: The provider assigned to the appointment. That’s the prescriber whose profile is linked to that booking.

- Review the appointment details shown at the top of the room.
- Click Join call.
- When your browser asks to use your camera and microphone, click Allow.

What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- The room can take a moment to load. You’ll briefly see “Preparing your room…”.
- Once you’re connected, a Live room connected label appears.
- Your patient appears in the room once they join.
- Click Participants to see who has joined and their connection status.
- Use the Consultation Tools panel to view or add notes and prescriptions during the call. See How to write consultation notes.
- When you’re finished, click End session to close the call. Then click Back to appointments.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- Camera or microphone blocked in your browser — click the small lock icon in your browser’s address bar. Set Camera and Microphone to Allow. Reload the page.
- Join fails but access isn’t fully blocked — click Allow camera and microphone on screen and try again.
- “This consultation room could not be opened.” — this happens if you reload the page or open a saved link directly. Go back to Appointments and open the room again from the booking.
- “This consultation is not available to join.” — shown if the booking was cancelled, rescheduled, or has ended. Also shown if you’re not the assigned provider. Read the reason shown on screen.
- Room drops during the call — click Join call again to reconnect.
